NNA – Lebanon’s Parliamentary Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Committee led by MP Dr. Fadi Alameh, on Thursday met with French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, with whom he discussed Lebanon's situation and regional developments. France emphasized the importance of implementing solution initiatives to reduce tensions and prevent a full-scale war.

Magro outlined France's role in supporting Lebanese factions to elect a president, stressing the need for serious engagement and detachment of this electoral process from events in Gaza. He highlighted France's intention to develop a logical strategy to address the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon, aiming for a political solution in Syria to avoid leaving Lebanon in a state of limbo.

Magro reaffirmed France's commitment to achieving a sustainable solution in Palestine and the region, similar to the successful maritime border negotiations between Lebanon and Israel. He noted the opportunity to finalize land border points based on the 1949 Armistice.
