NNA - Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamieh, wrote today on his platform “X” account: “The opening of bids and contracts have been completed as per the legal frameworks for maintenance and rehabilitation works on the international road linking Hazmieh to Dahr al-Baydar, all the way to Chtoura and far-reaching the Masnaa area at the Lebanese-Syrian border. The required administrative procedures are currently in process for beginning these works soon. The same applies to the international road from Chtoura to Zahle, all the way to Baalbek and al-Qaa and far-reaching the Lebanese-Syrian border."

He added, "As for dealing with the collapses that occurred in Dahr al-Baydar, today we are conducting an inspection tour of the ongoing works there, which are a prelude to the design and implementation of consolidation works for the collapse site along the Dahr al-Baydar International Road. Hence, the technical teams in charge of geotechnical exploration of the earth’s layers at the aforementioned site are currently conducting scientific measures for treating chronic collapses at this location."
