NNA - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called on Saturday for "putting an end to the war in Gaza and Lebanon, and moving forward strongly on the path of a ceasefire, exchanging hostages, and enforcing aid," according to "Russia Today".

Sisi received a delegation from the US House of Representatives from both the Republican and Democratic parties, headed by Representative Tom Cole, Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati.

Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the presidency, stated that "the meeting focused on regional conditions, as the congressional delegation was keen to listen to the president's vision on how to restore peace and security in the region, and avoid expanding the circle of conflict and turning it into a regional war."

In this context, the Egyptian president explained "the necessity of putting an end to the war in Gaza and Lebanon, and moving forward strongly on the path of a ceasefire, exchanging hostages, and enforcing humanitarian aid immediately and in large quantities, sufficient to end the worsening humanitarian crisis."
