Spirit of resistance to strengthen after martyr Sinwar: Iran UN envoy

NNA - The spirit of resistance will be strengthened following the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar, the head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, underlined the Iranian mission to the United Nations on Friday.

On October 17, 2024, the Israeli occupation military claimed that it "eliminated" Sinwar in an operation in the southern Gaza Strip, though Hamas has not confirmed his martyrdom.

The Iranian mission stated that the resistance will endure, as the martyr remains a source of inspiration. It highlighted that martyr Sinwar will serve as a role model for the youth and children who will carry on his legacy in the fight for Palestine's liberation.

In a related context, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, firmly rejected the allegations from the Israeli occupation regarding Iran's supposed violations of international law and the United Nations Charter, emphasizing that these claims are entirely unfounded.

In a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and the President of the Security Council, Pascale Christian, he said that "Israel's occupying and apartheid regime has flagrantly and systematically violated international law, committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide against the innocent Palestinian people of Gaza, all with complete impunity."--agencies
