NNA – Lebanon’s Ministry of Culture honored martyr journalist, Sherine Abu Aqla, by placing a picture of her at Beirut’s National Library upon a decision by Caretaker Minister of Culture, Judge Mohammad Wissam Al-Mortada, as part of the “Salute to Sherine Abu Aqla” event within the framework of Beirut Image Festival.
The outer courtyard of the library hosted a photo exhibition telling the biography of martyr Abu Aqla.
“Her blood triumphed over their [Israel’s] terror, and the voice of her message rose higher than their bullets; she documented, by sound and image, the crime that was carried out against words, freedoms, and values, reflecting the true image of their existence in Palestine – a mere epidemic that destroys its people, history, and life,” Mortada said in tribute to late Abu Aqla.
“They [Israelis] are the ones who have done nothing but usurp the land, demolish homes, uproot trees, kill people, displace them, and imprison them,” the Culture Minister added.
