Culture Minister: How could Lebanon and its people be left to suffer alone?

NNA – Caretaker Minister of Culture, Judge Mohammad Wissam Al-Mortada, on Friday wondered, "How could Lebanon and its people be left to suffer alone, the worst of bitterness, despite having carried the heavy burdens on the entire Arab nation?"

Addressing an Arab delegation, the Culture Minister added: "With a reconciled heart, dear brothers, for God's sake, answer me. How is it right, for some of our brothers, to seek under the pretext of pragmatism and realism, normalization with Satan, and simultaneously turn their backs and close their hearts against their younger brother Lebanon?"

Minister Al-Mortada’s words came during his inauguration and opening of a regional forum titled, “Protecting heritage and cultural property in Arab countries in times of crisis,” hosted by the Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science, as well as the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO, at the National Library.
