NNA - Caretaker Minister of Energy and Water, Dr. Walid Fayyad, arrived Sunday at the head of an official delegation to Tunis, the capital, to participate in the activities of the fifth session of the Mediterranean Water Forum, where they were received by the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Abdel Moneim Belaati, and Lebanese Ambassador to Tunisia, Tony Franjieh.

Tunisia is hosting the fifth session of the Mediterranean Water Forum, under the slogan “Together towards moderation in the shared use of water," with several ministers from Mediterranean countries attending. 

The Mediterranean Water Forum, taking place between February 5 & 7, will focus on ways to enhance moderation in the shared use of water, during which participants will exchange knowledge and experiences and discuss challenges related to water management in the Mediterranean region, alongside the adaptation to climate change, integrated management of water resources, technological innovation and sustainable solutions for water management.

Minister Fayyad will also partake in the round table that will include the ministers participating in the conference, and will deliver a speech addressing the “Tunis Declaration” that will be issued by the conference. He will also deliver the opening speech at the seminar, which will address the topics of energy, food, water, and the environment. On the sidelines of the conference, a series of bilateral meetings will be held with several ministers and officials.
