NNA - Head of Food Importers’ Syndicate in Lebanon, Hani Bohsali, on Thursday assured the Lebanese that there was no need to worry about a local grain shortage in the wake of Russia's decision to suspend its participation in the Ukrainian grain export agreement through the Black Sea.
“There are alternative global sources for grain imports besides Ukraine,” he affirmed.
However, Bohsali feared that this matter would bear a negative impact on global markets.
“This will lead to an increase in the prices of many commodities, especially wheat and oils,” he warned, calling on concerned Lebanese officials to swiftly tackle this issue.
