NNA - Caretaker Minister of Industry, Georges Boujikian, on Friday met with the French Embassy’s newly appointed economic attaché, Francois Spurrier, who paid him an acquaintance visit upon assuming his diplomatic duties in Lebanon.
The pair exchanged views on the best means to enhance cooperation between Lebanon and France, on the industrial and exchange levels, and to help Lebanese manufacturers adapt to the new European specifications.
The government's reform plan and the need to speed up its implementation were further discussed in preparation for signing an agreement with the International Monetary Fund.
The meeting also attached importance to the participation of Lebanese industrialists in the SIAL exhibition for food industries, which will be held in mid-October in the French capital.
Boujikian separately met with a delegation representing the Trade and Investment Facilitation Program (TIF) at the US Agency for Development (USAID) to discuss cooperation between public and private sectors.
