NNA - Caretaker Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Hajj Hassan, on Wednesday received in his office the Executive Director of the René Moawad Foundation, MP Michel Mouawad, accompanied by the Foundation's General Manager, Nabil Mouawad.

Discussions reportedly touched on agricultural and developmental affairs.

Caretaker Minister Hajj Hassan stressed “the necessity of strengthening the Lebanese economy through a partnership between the public and private sectors, in order to reach the ultimate goal of transforming the Lebanese economy from rentier to productive."

In turn, MP Mouawad highlighted the main role played by the Ministry of Agriculture at the current stage, especially in the food security dossier.

Mouawad presented on behalf of the Foundation a special donation to the agricultural laboratory in Kfarchima, amounting to 500,000 USD, tantamount to equipment aiming to modernize the facility, which is considered one of the most important agricultural laboratories in Lebanon.
