NNA – Caretaker Minister of Energy and Water, Walid Fayyad, conducted a nighttime inspection of fires that erupted in northern Metn towns back on Monday, posing a significant threat to vast areas and nearby buildings.
Accompanied by officials from the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Authority, Fayyad assessed the situation with civil defense teams, who established an operations center in Rabweh.
The Minister instructed the provision of water tanks to support firefighting efforts and secured a commitment from oil companies to allocate a total of 500,000 liters of water for emergencies.
Fayyad also emphasized the urgency of these measures, given the lack of rain forecasted in the coming days.
