NNA – Caretaker, Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Monday received at the Grand Serail, U.S. Presidential Envoy, Amos Hochstein, in the presence of US Ambassador to Lebanon, Lisa Johnson, and Premier Mikati's Advisor Ziad Mikati.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that "the priority is to cease fire and fully implement Resolution 1701, as it is the cornerstone of stability in the region."

Mikati also pointed out that "diplomatic efforts are actively ongoing to reach a ceasefire soon."

Hochstein, in turn, stressed that "serious diplomatic efforts are still ongoing, and we are working to reach a ceasefire in the coming period and we support the full and comprehensive implementation of UN Resolution 1701, and all parties must work to reach a mutual understanding on how to implement the resolution."
