NNA - Caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib on Monday met with the Vatican Secretary of State Paul Richard Gallagher in Rome.

"I sensed the Vatican's deep concerns about the deterioration of the situation in Lebanon, especially the fate of 16 Christian towns in south Lebanon, in addition to the political stalemate and the failure to elect a president of the republic," said Bou Habib following the meeting.

"I also sensed the Vatican's wish to help Lebanon overcome this crisis, and we agreed on the necessity of ending the killing and the sufferings," he added.
