NNA - In response to Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s statement concerning the remarks of the Iranian House Speaker, Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea issued a statement expressing cautious optimism. Geagea commended Mikati for showing responsibility on behalf of the Lebanese state, noting, “Although it is belated, there is a glimmer of hope that the Lebanese government is finally assuming its duties.”

Geagea emphasized that Mikati’s comments reflected the sentiment of all true Lebanese patriots. He urged the Prime Minister to take further steps by calling for an immediate ceasefire, anchored in the implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions 1559, 1680, and 1701, as the only viable solution to end the ongoing massacres plaguing Lebanon for nearly two months.
