Mikati reviews emergency preparedness amid regional tensions

NNA - Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Thursday continued his meetings at the Grand Serail, focusing on the readiness of Lebanese ministries and institutions for potential emergencies.

Mikati welcomed a delegation from the Syndicate of Food Importers, led by Hani Bohsali, who assured the Prime Minister that there was no rush on supplies and that goods were available.

Moreover, Bohsali emphasized the importance of keeping the port operational and avoiding embargoes in the event of conflict. "Currently, we face no issues regarding food supplies," he stated.

Mikati also met with MP Jihad al-Samad, who expressed confidence in the government's preparations to confront challenges posed by Israel.

Al-Samad called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, stressing that the confrontation with Israel remains open and should conclude favorably for Lebanon and the Arab nation.

Additionally, MP Razi al-Haj discussed with the PM the urgent need for a presidential election to restore the functioning of constitutional institutions. He highlighted developmental projects in the Metn district, noting that the completion of the expressway link will proceed in two phases, with the first funded by a Saudi grant.

Mikati also conferred with Tourism Minister, Walid Nassar, on strategies for navigating the current difficult circumstances.

The PM then met with ISF Chief, Imad Othman, with whom he discussed security developments in the country.

Among the visitors was former MP Sami Fatfat.
