NNA – Caretaker Interior and Municipalities Minister, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, on Monday received French Senator for Overseas Residents, Olivier Cadic, with whom he broached the internal political and security situation in Lebanon.

Discussions between the pair also included the latest developments in southern Lebanon and the importance of implementing international resolutions.

Minister Mawlawi expressed gratitude to Senator Cadic for France's ongoing support for Lebanon and its efforts alongside the quintet committee member states to resolve the presidential vacancy.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for Mawlawi to congratulate France on its national holiday.
