NNA - The presidential candidate, Dr. Melhem Jamil al-Bustani, announced in a statement on Saturday, that he visited the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, in Diman, and presented to him his presidential program, explaining his plan of action to get the country out of its crises.

Al-Bustani pointed out that “Lebanon today is going through a difficult stage, and the real prelude to building the state and the resurrection of the homeland is the election of the parliament outside sectarian restrictions, and the election of the governors, the president of the republic, and the Supreme Judicial Council directly by the people, to achieve the independence that everyone demands.”

Al-Bustani also presented the Patriarch with a copy of his book “From Numerical Democracy to Efficiency Democracy,” and the book “The Promise of Salvation,” in addition to a letter containing a proposed solution to the Syrian displacement crisis.

Patriarch al-Rahi, in turn, thanked al-Bustani for his visit, commending his valuable efforts and national initiatives.
