NNA - MP Fouad Makhzoumi regreted that Lebanon's 79th Independence Day comes without having a president of the republic on a major and pivotal national occasion in the history of Lebanon, deeming it "very unfortunate".

He added on Twitter: "We hope that the anniversary will be an opportunity to strengthen national unity and civil peace, and that those concerned will render among their priorities electing a president for the republic as soon as possible and within the constitutional deadlines."
