Embassy of Korea opens Korea corner at USJ

NNA - The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Lebanon, with the support of Korea Foundation, officially opened the Korea Corner on 29 November 2022 at the Saint Joseph University – Faculty of Translation and Languages. The Korea Corner which exhibits many varieties of Korean culture, features Korean books and traditional items, is dedicated to providing a permanent space to represent Korean culture within the Saint Joseph University. It includes a dozen of books in the field of economics, politics, international relations, law, history, society and the culture of Korea. It also include a TV, DVD and laptops. Korea Corner is open to all students, professors and staff.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Lebanon, H.E. IL Park inaugurated the Korea Corner in presence of the Rector of Saint-Joseph University of Beirut, Prof. Salim Daccache s.j., Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Languages, Prof. Gina Abou Fadel, and heads of faculties, Professors and a large number of Students.

Preceding the opening of the Korea Corner, Ambassador Park delivered a lecture entitled “Factors behind Korea’s Economic Success” in presence of more than 70 professors and students from different faculties. He highlighted the history of Korean economic development and its key drivers. The lecture followed by the Q&A session where Ambassador and audiences exchanged their insights on the policy implications and lessons learned for the Lebanon’s economy.
