NNA - From 14 to 20 November 2022, the Embassy of Italy in Beirut and the Italian Trade Agency - ITA in Beirut present the 7th edition of the World Week of Italian Cuisine and propose a program of events to highlight the Italian presence in Lebanon in the food and wine sector, experience “The Extraordinary Italian Taste” and share the Italian culinary tradition, made up of quality cuisine and world-famous gastronomic products and wines.
The theme chosen for the 2022 edition is "Conviviality, sustainability and innovation: the ingredients of Italian cuisine for people's health and for the protection of the planet".
Special guests from Italy
For this edition of the World Week of Italian Cuisine, we are pleased to welcome Gianni Tarabini in Lebanon, member of the “Ambassadors of Taste” association and starred Italian chef currently managing “La Preséf” restaurant in Italy. Chef Tarabini will participate in various culinary demonstrations, one of which in collaboration with the Accademia Della Cucina Italiana in Beirut. He will hold two Masterchef Classes as well, the first dedicated to the students of the advanced course "Hotel and hospitality Management" at the Université Saint Joseph and the other to some chefs of the main Italian restaurants in the Lebanese capital.
The Embassy and the Italian Trade Agency in Beirut are pleased to present the renewed collaboration with Spinney's, the largest chain of Lebanese hypermarkets. To celebrate the end of the first year of the campaign to promote Italian quality products, Spinney's, will host a culinary demonstration by chef Gianni Tarabini using authentic Italian products introduced in the Lebanese market through the campaign launched in 2022.
The extraordinary Italian taste
As in previous years, the Embassy called on restaurants, clubs and wine bars engaged in the promotion of the Italian gastronomic tradition to celebrate the Week with menus, tastings and promotions. Also this year the participation is high with, at the moment, 12 restaurants are participating all over Lebanon and they are: Appetito Trattoria, Avanti, Puccia, Bread Republic, La Menagerie, Itriyya & Edda Arabica, Di Farina, Marinella, Mario and Mario, Smallville Hotel, Al Bustan, Already The Cuisine of Love.
Solidarity lunch at Nation Station - Geitawi
To conclude the World Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, a solidarity lunch will be organized on Sunday 20 November at 12:00 at "Nation Station" in Geitawi, an iconic place that bears witness to the volunteering and solidarity action, especially towards the population of the neighborhood severely affected by the explosion at the Port of Beirut.
This year, again as part of the World Week of Italian Cuisine, a gastronomic presentation event is also planned in the city of Tripoli.
