NNA - Head of the land transport unions, Bassam Tleis, on Friday announced in a statement, “With the uncontrollable rise in the US dollar exchange rate and the collapse of the Lebanese lira value,  and its impact on all commodities, especially the prices of fuel, auto parts and maintenance, amidst the government’s failure to fulfill its duties to protect workers in the land transport sector from illegal infringements… I call on colleagues in the land transport sector to an extraordinary meeting and press conference at 10.30 am upcoming Wednesday, June 1, at the General Labor Confederation's headquarters, to announce the escalatory position and to determine the next steps, including strikes, sit-ins and moves.”
